Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Takeframe doesn't collect, store or share personal data. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking.

Camera and microphone

They're used only to record your takes. Video and sound travel directly between your iPhone and your Mac over your local network, over an encrypted connection, and never go through any server, ours or anyone else's.

Where your recordings are kept

On your Mac, in Movies › Takeframe. The iPhone keeps each take only until it has fully reached the Mac, then deletes it. You can delete your recordings at any time.

Local network and pairing

Local network access is used only so your iPhone and your Mac can find and connect to each other. The first time, you pair them with a code shown on the iPhone: from then on only your paired Macs can connect to your camera. The key for that connection is stored in each device's keychain.

Motion sensors

The horizon level uses the iPhone's motion sensors. The reading is used on the spot and never stored.

Settings

Scenes, the teleprompter script and your preferences are stored only on your Mac.

Purchases

If you buy Takeframe Pro, the purchase is handled by Apple. We never receive your payment details.

Children

Takeframe doesn't collect data from anyone, children included.
